Just One More Chapter

Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light.

I'm just trying to light up the world as much as I can one SciFi/paranormal/fantasy/space opera/time travel book at a time.

Jim Morgan and the Door at the Edge of the World (Volume 3) - James Matlack Raney Well well well. This was the third and final installment documenting the adventures of Jim Morgan, his pretty love interest Lacey and his adopted family the brothers Ratt. In some ways I was happy to have the trilogy end. The action was intense with a huge cast of magical Creatures, objects and heroes and villains abound. The writing style I can only label as easy going was incredibly alluring and consistent throughout the trilogy. The world building and character development were as rich as ever. The only gripe I had with the book, besides the unlikely saccharine ending was the numerous plot lines that were not sewn up or even addressed by the end. There were promises to magical Creatures that were blatantly ignored, a promise to return a family back to normal through magical means that was sadly neglected and a sense of neglect in the end. All in all this was a really cute coming of age, middle grade, read that took to the high seas and spanned the world over.
