Just One More Chapter

Wow, where to start? First of all this book starts off right in the thick of it...confusing? yes! But such is the nature of the beast with a first person story revolving around a main character that has trouble trusting his memories and Reality as a whole. This was a well written, coming of age story about a family of grifters with unique fortes and skill sets. There were some major plot twists that were pretty easily guessed early on but it didn't detract from the fun of learning the truth alongside each of the players. Also, there was just the right amount of action. The pace, character and world development and writing were seamless and kept me interested (and wholely invested) until the very last page. I LOVED the MC Cassel! He was 3D, complex, well fleshed out, snarky, strong yet humanly weak, relateably insecure and made you want to root for him to get his happy ending. Thankfully I do not have to wait too long for book #2, Red Gloves here I come!!
